 These extracts are taken from the bundle of documents which make up the deeds for the property at 17, Burn Road, Birchencliffe, Huddersfield, W. Yorkshire. I have included all the names and dates mentioned in these documents along with their purpose and salient facts from each document. 

The earliest document is from 1855 when the buildings were already in existence.  There is nothing in the documents to tell when the houses were built or who built them.

Indenture between Clara THORNHILL of Fixby, Co. of York. Age under 21.

and    Rev. Alfred BROWN. Clerk Vicar of Calverley.

and    John Hodgson RAMSBOTHAM of Huddersfield, MD.

and    Christopher WHITE of Lincoln's Inn Fields, Middx. Gentleman.

 

and    Charles IREDALE of Birchencliffe.

 

Charles IREDALE takes a 99 year lease on the land and buildings at 17 & 19 Burn Road, Birchencliffe.

 

 

11th September 1856 

Conveyance from Clara CLARKE THORNHILL wife of William Capel CLARKE THORNHILL of Swakeleys in Middx.

and   Honoria HUNGERFORD wife of Henry HUNGERFORD Holdwich Hungerford of Dingby Park, Northampton.

2 I appoint my son George and my daughter Beatrice Ellen to be the executors and trustees of this my will.
